The covers were removed today from the Old Course and I am happy to say the it looks like we made it through the Winter without any injury. The warmer
temperatures this week should start to increase soil temperatures to initiate growth. As soon as the turf begins to
actively grow we will be able to allow carts off the paths.
We usually cover about 4 greens, but did not this year and they faired well. How do yours look with covers? Any disease? We had some small rings, possibly necrotic ring spot and anthracnose. (Rick Pagett btw, I don't have any of the listed profiles below other than anonymous)
ReplyDeleteRick,
ReplyDeleteGreens were very clean this year. No disease. We were very aggressive with topdressing before we covered. This is the first year we didn't have any type of winter damage. The Greens are not growing all that well. That is typical with the wind and openess we are exposed to.
